The Host Memory Buffer feature utilizes the direct access memory of the PCI Express to allow the SSDs to use some DRAM. Thus not having to need DRAM on the SSD itself.
Performance and Stability
The Gigabyte 512Gb M.2 SSD provides speeds of up to 1550 Mb/s in sequential reading speeds, and 850 Mb/s in sequential writing speeds. Which is much faster than a traditional SSD and a typical HDD. Whilst also providing addition stability and less room for failure than a traditional HDD. Due to it not needing spin thus causing less noise and less heat overall.
SSD Tool Box
Using the newly updated SSD Tool Box, users are allowed to monitor the health of their drives, temperature and other general information regarding all of their drives within the system. Along with being able to erase all of the data using the Secure Erase function.
Reliability
Gigabyte states that it is able of providing 1.5 million hours of use. Along with providing 400 terabytes written of total use.
